Target: Salt Lake County, Utah District Attorney Sim Gill
Demand: Revoke probation possibility for Megan Huntsman.
Megan Huntsman plead guilty to killing six of her children. Darren West, her estranged husband, called police after he found a dead baby in a plastic bag in a garage. Police eventually found seven dead babies in total, all of which were wrapped in a towel or shirt, placed in a plastic bag, and put into an individual cardboard box.
Huntsman admitted to killing six of them and said the other was stillborn. West was found to be the father of all seven children, but he says he never knew his wife was pregnant.
Apparently Huntsman had a problem with drugs, alcohol, and depression and says that it lead her to commit the crimes. In a statement read in court by her attorney, Huntsman said “I cannot give a reasonable answer why I was capable of such a sick and heinous crime. I held my secret for 18 years.”
She has been sentenced to thirty years in prison before being considered for parole.
Dear Salt Lake City County District Attorney Sim Gill,
Megan Huntsman has plead guilty to killing six of her seven children. The children, all newborn babies, didn’t stand a chance against their mother who strangled or suffocated them. She has been sentenced to thirty years in prison and then is eligible for parole.
We, the undersigned, urge you to revoke her chance for parole to ensure that the six children she robbed of life are given justice.
