Ban Cosmetic Animal Testing in Korea

Target: Representative Jeong-Lim Moon, Member of the Korean Health and Welfare Committee

Goal: Support a ban on cosmetic animal testing in South Korea.

Animal testing for cosmetic products may soon be a thing of the past in South Korea, thanks to new legislation. Should this bill pass, Korea will be the second country in Asia to put an end to the cruel practice of testing cosmetics on animals. This compassionate movement comes after intense influence from Cruelty Free International. This bill is set to take effect in 2017, a relatively quick time frame for a monumental movement in animal rights.

Victimized animals of the cosmetic industry live in constant pain and isolation. They are confined to cages for the duration of their lives, burned, marred and tortured with chemicals and other topical solutions. Cosmetic industry animals exist for the sole reason of testing products deemed for human use. This existence is incredibly depressing; however, the use of animals in the industry is slowly becoming obsolete.

The representative behind this bill, Jeong-Lim Moon, wholeheartedly believes that this bill will pass. He is proud to be amongst the growing number of countries that are abolishing cosmetic animal testing. Applaud Moon for his tireless efforts to free enslaved animals by signing this petition.

Dear Representative Moon,

I am writing to express my immense pleasure with your proposed bill, which will put an end to cosmetic animal testing in Korea. It is my hope that this bill will pass all barriers with ease and soon be made into law to end animal testing in Korea by 2017. Your dedication to this movement has not gone unnoticed; for that, I and the undersigned are grateful.

The only thing I ask of you is to spread your compassionate influence throughout the other Asian countries. Should your bill pass, Korea will be the second Asian country to put an end to cosmetic animal testing. There are still too many countries in Asia, as well as the world, that insist on abusing animals for the sole reason of human vanity. Not only is this abuse absurd, it highlights some of the ugliest traits that humans possess.

Please reach out to all Asian leaders to urge them to follow your lead. You are a remarkable and valuable ally to the downtrodden animals of Korea. Thank you for your leadership and tenacity with this pertinent issue.
