Target: Dick Elkins, President of the Eagle Mountain-Saginaw ISD Board of Trustees
Goal: Investigate why Kourtney Glaser was placed on administrative leave.
Kourtney Glaser, an assistant principal in Texas, was allegedly forced to take administrative leave after having a medical emergency. During a training meeting Glaser began profoundly bleeding because her birth control device was stuck in her uterine wall. Glaser claims she had the IUD taken out and wanted to go back to work. She said that the Eagle Mountain-Saginaw Independent School District forced her to go on leave, and the district reportedly said she suffered from an anxiety attack.
Several parents of the Comanche Springs Elementary School filed a petition to see what really happened. The parents must really care for and admire Glaser if they filed a petition for her.
If what Glaser is saying proves to be true, the district acted extremely unfairly and are gender stereotyping. A woman should be able to be on birth control and not be judged for it. Would they have acted the same if a man had an incident of bleeding? To supposedly have said it’s just an anxiety attack is undermining and unfair to Glaser. An assistant principal is a prestigious position–one who earned this position should not be embarrassed for something that is out of his or her control.
By signing this petition you are helping to launch a thorough investigation as to why Kourtney Glaser took administrative leave. You are saying that if these allegations are true, gender discrimination cannot be tolerated.
Dear Mr. Dick Elkins,
One of your assistant principals, Kourtney Glaser, is claiming that you and your district forced her to take administrative leave after having a medical incident. Glaser says that she has proof that the incident was indeed caused by her IUD. She also states that you and your district blamed her incident on an anxiety attack.
These allegations are appalling. To supposedly not believe a valued educator such as Glaser is wrong. An assistant principal is a very vital role in school. In order to achieve such a role, one must work hard. Some of the parents of your district truly respect Glaser, which is why they started a petition to find out the truth.
Gender discrimination is a very serious issue. A woman should not feel ashamed for being on birth control. If your district did force her to leave, would you have done the same to a man? It is not right to not trust a fellow employee. I’m urging you to investigate and get to the bottom of this. Please do not to let Glaser feel as if she has been wronged.
