Target: Actors Dame Judi Dench & Peter Egan
Goal: Applaud actors for joining the campaign against the dog meat trade industry in Asia.
The dog meat trade is a prevalent industry in several Asian countries, namely South Korea, Vietnam, and China. Two prominent actors, Dame Judi Dench and Peter Egan, recently attended a crusade briefing in Westminster to raise awareness about the dog meat trade industry issue in Asian countries and to urge policymakers to make changes. Praise Dench and Egan for their efforts to finally put an end to the dog meat trade.
According to Korea Animal Rights Advocates statistics, approximately 100,000 tons of dog meat is consumed annually, resulting in an average of 2.5 million dogs that are slaughtered every year for their meat. This steady average of number of dogs eaten annually indicates that the dogs suffering the cruel horrors of being slayed for meat is fairly consistent. Awareness campaigns such as the crusade briefing held in Westminster are necessary to enlighten the public on the issues of the dog meat industry, which most people may not necessarily be aware of.
Egan is a rescue dog owner as well as an ambassador for welfare charity Animals Asia. At this crusade briefing, Egan explicitly described the horrors that the dogs face, such as being stolen from the streets, skinned and boiled alive. Egan hopes to urge the Foreign Office and embassies to collaborate on changing the destructive course of the dog meat industry.
Please sign the petition below to praise the efforts of Dame Judi Dench and Peter Egan in joining the campaign against the dog meat industry in Asia. These high-profile celebrities are helping to raise awareness about the horrible conditions of dogs in the meat industry in Asia, and their efforts will hopefully help put an end to this deplorable trade once and for all.
Dear Dame Judi Dench and Peter Egan,
The dog meat industry in Asia is a prevalent issue, and efforts to cease this horrendous practice are underway. Many individuals are not aware of the true horrors of the dog meat industry, such as how dogs endure being captured, skinned, and boiled alive to satisfy the palates of dog meat eaters. You have helped to enlighten the public of this issue through your involvement in this worthwhile campaign.
Thank you for taking part in raising awareness about the vile dog meat industry in Asia. The helpless dogs being mistreated and mercilessly slaughtered for meat need all the help and awareness they can get to stop this cruel trade.
