Target: Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department sheriff Joseph Lombardo
Goal: Fire cop who allegedly made dangerous, racist comments about minorities and threatened President Obama.
It was recently announced that a Las Vegas detective named Bobby Kinch would not be fired for racist comments against racial minorities and threats he made to President Barack Obama. Based on these alleged comments, Detective Kinch is a danger to the citizens of Las Vegas and should not be allowed to be a member of law enforcement. Demand that the department immediately fire Kinch and revoke his pension.
A number of posts on Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department detective Bobby Kinch’s personal Facebook page were brought to the attention of his superiors by colleagues who were concerned that Kinch was not fit for service on the police force. The posts in question were racially charged and violent. One read “Let’s just get this over! Race war, Civil, Revolution? Bring it! I’m about as fed up as a man (American, Christian, White, Heterosexual) can get!” Another post echoed that sentiment, reading “It’s obviously coming to a boiling point! I say ‘F*CK IT’! I’m ready now! Sooner or later, I would say sooner than later! Thought I could make a difference, thought it would get better! See the morale fabric of this Country get so trampled I wanna call it! GAME ON! I think we need a cleansing! Just me? What say you?” In addition to these radical comments, there was also a picture Kinch posted of himself pointing a gun at a commemorative plate with President Obama’s face on it.
Despite this damning evidence, an internal investigation was just completed, and it was determined that Kinch would remain on the police force. This is reckless and a willful endangerment of Las Vegas residents of color. Sign the petition below to demand that Detective Kinch be immediately fired from his job and have his pension revoked.
Dear Sheriff Lombardo,
I am writing you today about the recent determination that a detective in your department’s ranks, Bobby Kinch, would not be fired for comments he made on his Facebook page. This is ridiculous, and I urge you to immediately set the record straight.
There can be no doubt of the material Detective Kinch wrote and the picture he posted–the question, apparently, lays in the discipline that he should receive for them. Apparently a suspension over the course of an internal investigation is enough, but I emphatically disagree. Kinch has proven himself to be a danger to any citizen who may be unfortunate enough to have to engage with him while he is on duty, especially racial minorities. He is biased against people of color and obviously has an axe to grind, and his own colleagues were concerned enough about his behavior that they notified their superiors of it. None of this paints a picture of a man who should be given a gun and a badge.
Despite the results of your department’s investigation, I urge you to hold yourself, your department, and your officers to a higher standard. Kinch should not be on the police force. I demand that you immediately fire him and revoke his pension.
