Support Justice for Pet Dog Beaten to Death

Target: Joel Brott, Sherburne County Sheriff

Goal: Praise harshest possible charges against the perpetrator of a senseless dog beating

A man is facing prison time for allegedly torturing his girlfriend’s pet dog before killing it and throwing it in a ditch. Anthony Sather of Minnesota has been charged with felony animal torture after recordings of the beating were found on his computer. In the video, Sather smiles for the camera as he repeatedly punches the whimpering dog before slamming it into the ground. Another video shows Sather shooting the dog as it laid helpless on the ground.

When a concerned citizen notified his girlfriend, Andrea Godfrey, that her dog was lying dead in a ditch, Sather managed to cover up the death by convincing Godfrey that the dog was mistaken for a coyote by a hunter. He kept the secret until Godfrey found videos of the killing saved on his computer and forwarded them to the sheriff, who opened an investigation.

For the felony animal torture charge, Sather could face four years in prison and a fine of up to $10,000. During the raid, police also found large quantities of illegally-obtained prescription drugs. Sather also faces two counts of felony drug possession and is being held on a $250,000 bail pending his trial. If found guilty of all the charges, the abuser could spend up to 15 years in prison.

Sather displayed a shocking lack of conscience both during the beating and afterward, when he manipulated his girlfriend to cover up his crimes. Taking a tough stance against the crime with felony charges will ensure that he faces an appropriate punishment, and could deter others from committing similar offenses. Sign the petition below to praise the charges against this heartless animal abuser.

Dear Sheriff Joel Brott,

Anthony Sather is facing up to four years in prison for a felony animal torture charge. He allegedly savagely beat his girlfriend’s pet dog, punching it, slamming it against a concrete floor, and finally shooting it and throwing it in a ditch. In a video of the incident, Sather is seen smiling and expressing pride for his violent crimes.

The cruel beating showed a complete lack of empathy, while covering up the dog’s death proved that Sather felt little guilt for his actions. We, the undersigned, praise the tough stance taken against this dangerous and cruel offender.

  1. Life imprisonment is too good for this sadistic sociopath!
He is a danger to any animal or human and doesn’t deserve to live near any living being. He is profoundly twisted, demented and depraved. Get him away from society, as long as possible!

  2. Michael Guest says:

Stupid freak. That’s animal cruelty. You don’t ever treat dogs like that. Unacceptable. Poor dog. Take the abuser away.

  3. There shouldn’t need to be a petition for the dog to get justice. Prison sentence should be automatic in any animal cruelty cases and a ban from keeping any pet.

  4. Cecily Colloby says:

    Beat this bastard to death—simple.

  5. Ellis Toscano says:

Two more years and it will be a major felony. Cannot wait. Let us hope that he becomes someone’s bitch in prison and suffers.

  6. This scumbag is a psycho. Please don’t ever allow him to walk on streets again for the longest time to come. These are the mentally twisted evil individuals who crave to see the blood baths of other living beings. It may be an animal or another vulnerable individual, it does not matter, all he wanted to see another living being’s death is taking place by his own hands. Imagine the horror that poor dog had to undergo. This slimeball needs to be locked up behind bars & should throw the keys away into a nearest sewer. No punishment is sufficient enough for such a crime. – “The More Helpless The VICTIM, The Greater The Crime” – Dr. Gerald Curtier–
