Praise Men Who Rescued Moose Trapped in Avalanche

Target: Marty Mobley, Rob Uphus, and Avery Vucinich

Goal: Thank group of men who saved a moose from dying underneath an avalanche of snow

Alaskans Marty Mobley, Rob Uphus, and Avery Vuninich were riding a snow machine near Acnohorage when they spotted something trapped under a massive avalanche. They had traveled the area once before and upon return, they noticed that the tracks had been wiped clean by an avalanche, which prompted their decision to survey the area for any trapped skiers. What they found instead was a brown moose struggling to move underneath a heavy block of snow. Mobley, the man who noticed the moose, thought the flailing “brown arm” belonged to a man’s at first. Upon investigation, the trio realized the “brown arm” was actually the limb of a moose and spotted its snout and ears. They immediately gathered their shovels and dug up enough snow for the moose to escape.

In a statement to a local newspaper, Mobley expressed his admiration for how docile the moose was, “It didn’t even fight us. It was like, ‘Help me. Help me.'” The animal appeared to be unharmed and unfazed by the incident, shocking the trio since they were certain it could not possibly walk away with only a couple of bruises or scratches. Mobley also tells the newspaper that avalanches are always a concern in that area and the group was not hesitant to save the moose’s life. So far, no humans have been found injured or killed by this specific avalanche.

Please sign this petition to thank the men who risked their lives to save a moose and returned to an area prone to avalanches.

Dear Marty, Rob, and Avery,

Thank you for your successful efforts to rescue a moose trapped underneath the snow after an avalanche. Since the avalanche had occurred a week prior to your discovery, the moose had been suffering for a long time and probably would not have made it for much longer if not for your help. You did not need to risk your lives by returning to the area and searching for other survivors. Your selfless acts certainly paid off.

Unfortunately, not all animals can be saved from natural disasters such as this, but I hope you all will feel proud of yourselves for at least saving one life. Like you said, good karma will definitely be heading your way.
