Fire Officer who Killed Boy with Squad Car

police car

Target: Gloucester County Sheriff Carmel M. Morina

Goal: Remove from duty the police officer responsible for hitting 10-year-old boy with squad car

Police brutality in the United States has been a hot topic for months. The news is constantly flooded with accounts of police officers murdering civilians of all ages, with no repercussions other than a paid leave. The most recent victim of police violence is a ten-year-old boy who lived in New Jersey. The boy was hit by a speeding police vehicle that allegedly did not have warning lights or sounds activated.

The ten-year-old boy was on his way to a friend’s house for a sleepover party when he was hit by a speeding police car. The officer was allegedly responding to a radio call and did not have his sirens or lights activated. The case so far states that the young boy did not see or hear the vehicle. The ten-year-old was pronounced dead on the scene when other authorities arrived.

Members of law enforcement are continually acting without regard to citizens or higher authority. In order to put an end to police brutality, whether the acts are accidents or not, repercussions for such actions must become severe and commonplace. Had another citizen hit the young boy, manslaughter charges would ensue. Urge the highest elected public law enforcement officer of the county to permanently remove the responsible police officer from duty.

Dear Sheriff Morina,

The recently killed ten-year-old boy is a victim of the reckless driving of a police officer under your jurisdiction. The police officer allegedly did not have warning lights or sounds activated as he sped through residential streets. Even if the guilty officer was not required to activate his lights and sirens, this tragedy must be dealt with appropriately.

Sheriff Morina, I urge you to fire the responsible police officer and relieve him of all police duties. Police brutality is rampant and must be put to an end. Whether or not a police officer’s violent actions were accidental is no longer relevant. Innocent children and adults are dying at the hands of those who are hired to protect them. Each and every incident that now goes against this protection must be punished. There will be no change within the police force unless it is required.

Please do what is right to bring justice to the murdered young boy.
