Target: Aaron Soyring, Investigator at the Humane Society

Goal: Thank the Humane Society for rescuing abandoned and abused dogs

Residents helped save several abused and abandoned dogs and puppies in Ann Arbor, Michigan. A Good Samaritan, someone who works to rescue animals who need help, found one of the dogs tied to a traffic sign pole and puppies in a plastic bin nearby. She discovered them after hearing their cries. Just a week later, another good-hearted resident called the authorities after witnessing a man placing a dog in a parking garage and leaving her there. The dog was found to be malnourished and pregnant.

Investigators from the Humane Society believe the two cases are related and that these dogs were “bait dogs” in dog fighting matches. Animal abuse officers also believe the two incidents are connected to a possible dog fighting ring because they were abandoned in the same way. In both cases, the dogs were pit bull mixes and were wounded and severely malnourished. Authorities are still waiting for more information from Ann Arbor residents. They are hoping to gather information from eyewitnesses that might have seen someone dropping off the dogs.

The last case of abused dogs in Ann Arbor was in 2012, so it was a shocker for local residents to find these abandoned and mistreated dogs. The dogs are now receiving medical care from the Humane Society and will be put up for adoption.

It is great news that the dogs are getting the care they need after being abandoned in such a cruel manner. Please sign this petition to thank the Good Samaritans and the Humane Society for rescuing these dogs.

Dear Mr. Soyring,

The Humane Society and the good-hearted people of Ann Arbor rescued a number of dogs that were abused and abandoned in random areas of the city. Thanks to all of your quick actions, your team was able to nurse the injured dogs back to good health.

It is sickening to know that these dogs and puppies could have come from dog fighting rings. Thank you for taking the time to thoroughly investigate the problem. I hope you find whoever is responsible for hurting these innocent animals and that they will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.

It is reassuring to know that the dogs and puppies are now in stable condition and ready to be placed in their forever homes.
