Congratulate Teen for Winning Peace Prize

Target: Neha Gupta

Goal: Congratulate teen for winning the Children’s Peace Prize for her charitable work to help children in need

An 18-year-old American teenager was awarded an international prize for her charitable work in aiding orphans in India and other children in need. Neha Gupta was given the International Children’s Peace Prize at a ceremony in The Hague in the Netherlands.

The International Children’s Peace Prize is awarded annually to a child who has made an impact on the world by promoting children’s rights and helping to improve vulnerable children’s situations. This award was initiated by the KidsRights Foundation, which is an international children’s aid and advocacy organization that was founded in 2003.

Neha knew what she wanted to do since the tender age of nine. Around this time, she was making annual visits to an orphanage in India and acknowledged that the children there were not as well off as she was. She believed that the orphans unjustly did not have many rights, and decided at the age of nine to set up her own foundation, called Empower Orphans, to aid these vulnerable children. From the foundation’s humble beginnings as a local fundraising campaign, it has grown into an organization that has collected over 1.3 million dollars and aided more than 25,000 children in need.

On her outlook of her mission, Neha believes “My message to the world is to convert empathy into action and to make a difference in people’s lives.”  Through her charitable work, Neha has proven that young age is not a limiting factor in making a positive change in the lives of those who are in need of help. Neha, at the age of nine, initiated her own campaign that has now helped thousands of children in India and in the Philippines. Please sign the petition below to congratulate Neha Gupta on her acceptance of the well-deserved Children’s Peace Prize.

Dear Neha Gupta,

Congratulations on being awarded the International Children’s Peace Prize for this year. You are very deserving of this prestigious award, in how you have made a positive change for the cause of orphans in India and other vulnerable children. The foundation that you started when you were only nine years old has proven to be successful in raising money and aiding thousands of children. The work that you have initiated is quite remarkable and inspiring, especially given that you are a kid yourself making the lives of other kids better.

Thank you again for your great charitable work. I look forward to hearing about other positive changes that occur through your organization.
