Applaud Stylist for Helping Homeless

Target: Mark Bustos

Goal: Thank high-fashion hair stylist for cutting hair of homeless

Look good, feel good. It’s an old adage but it’s still true. For the homeless, however, it’s a bit more difficult of an achievement. So many of our hygiene and grooming routines are taken for granted. For homeless individuals who might only have a few pieces of change rattling in their pocket, food and safety are the priorities. That’s why, when a high-priced stylist donates their time to make it possible for those living on the street to look and feel better about themselves, it should be commended.

Mark Bustos works at a successful salon in New York where his rates start at $150. Every Sunday he leaves behind the gleaming wood floors, the well-lit mirrors and the accent flowers of the studio and makes his way to lower Manhattan where he volunteers his hair cutting skills to the homeless. Mark then performs transformations on the hair as well as the spirits of his street clientele.

The surge of confidence gained by a new look offers a suggestion of hope and another start. These people smile when they see the results in the mirror. One man, after getting his hair cut, wondered if he would be able to find employment. In a homeless world when the day-to-day struggle is simply surviving the night, Mark’s time and efforts contribute greatly to the self-respect of those with so little.

Mark is a beacon of true generosity with a kind heart. He seeks out those that so often melt forgotten into the background of the city and invites potential into their day. Thank Mark for sharing his talents with less fortunate individuals and encourage his actions of charity.

Dear Mark Bustos,

Your weekly visit to the street to cut the hair of the homeless is inspiring and touching. So often the homeless are forgotten or ignored. It is truly wonderful to see someone reaching out and personally making a difference in their lives.

Thank you for donating your time and energy to bring some confidence to these individuals that so desperately need it. Please continue to improve the lives of less fortunate individuals by using your talents as a hair stylist to increase the hope and self esteem of the homeless.
