Urge Country to Release Accurate Human Rights Report

North Korea Security

Target: Leader of North Korea Kim Jong-un

Goal: Urge North Korea to release accurate human rights report detailing abuses in their country

When the United Nations published a report detailing the human rights abuse that took place in North Korea, the country deemed it a lie. North Korea has stated that such atrocities did not take place, and if any action was taken by international forces to investigate or otherwise change the country, North Korea would retaliate. North Korea has announced that they will make their own “rosy” human rights report, opposing the view points and facts stated by the United Nations. The world knows that such a report would be a blatant lie, and instead North Korea should publish their own accurate human rights abuse, and accept the fact that what they’ve done in their country is cruel and inhumane.

In the United Nations report, the organization criticized North Korea of its cruel human rights abuses, such as torture, murder, and enslavement. Citizens are not allowed to traverse outside of the country, and those that are found escaping are punished severely. Citizens have also gone hungry, and some have even starved to death. The report details that such treatment is akin to the Nazi concentration camps, which North Korea has loudly protested against. Such crimes should place North Korea in the International Criminal Court, but a spokesperson stated that the country will not turn up for the hearing.

Now a spokesperson from North Korea’s rights association was recently quoted in The Guardian saying that their report “will show the true picture of the people of the [North] dynamically advancing towards a brighter and rosy future.” There is no set date for this report, but human rights organizations are skeptical. It’s estimated at least 2.4 million people in North Korea need food assistance, and 28% of children suffer from chronic malnutrition. The country needs to take care of its people, and the first step is accepting the fact that North Korea is not doing its job. Urge the leader to publish an accurate report detailing the human rights abuse taking place in the country.

Dear Kim Jong-un,

Recently a spokesperson from your country’s rights association stated that North Korea is heading towards a bright and rosy future. Many countries and organizations, including the United Nations, do not believe that North Korea is heading in that direction. They believe the opposite, and that is your country is spiraling downwards due to the abuse inflicted upon your citizens.

I urge you to publish an accurate report detailing all of the human rights abuse that occurs in your country. North Korea has to accept the fact that it is harming the people, and in doing so, the country can attempt to fix this gigantic problem. Your people need to be taken care of, and this can only happen if you accept the wrongdoings.
