Criticize Political Candidate’s Violently Anti-Gay Comments

Target: Republican Scott Esk

Goal: Demand that a prospective politician apologize for advocating violence against homosexuals and urge him to revoke his political candidacy

Republican Tea Party members are, once again, showing their true colors. In the most recent collection of horrifying comments, Republican Scott Esk stated that gay people should be stoned. According to Esk, the Bible states that gays are “supposed” to be stoned in accordance with Christian principles. He also claims that “in the old testament from a law that came directly from God,” gays were stoned and should continue to be stoned until death, according to Esk’s other extremist opinions have come under fire as well, about his utterly asinine views on divorce, guns, and education.

The Tea Party member and Oklahoman district representative candidate believes divorces should be much more difficult for people to obtain (despite the fact that he is divorced), using a jury trial. Esk also wants to punish women who have had an abortion, claiming that they’ve committed murder, and believes that there should be zero restrictions on guns. Esk’s extremism is also evident in his desire to heavily defund education, asserting that it is not “a proper function of government,” according to the Huffington Post.

In further controversy, Esk called 911 because he assumed a group of Latino boys walking around a mall because he “suspected that many of them were guilty of being here illegally,” in a statement on Facebook obtained by Huffington Post.

Tell Republican Scott Esk to revoke his disgusting statements about wanting to stone gays to death. Ask him to resign his political candidacy from his Oklahoman district to prevent Oklahomans from having to deal with his discriminatory views.

Dear Mr. Esk,

You’ve recently come under fire for numerous controversial statements you’ve made regarding abortion, divorce, guns, education, and, most recently, homosexuals. By asserting that gays should be stoned because, according to you, the Bible says gays should be punished, you show your propensity and desire for unrestrained and barbaric violence. Your views on zero gun limitations reaffirms your repulsive and violent opinions. As a self-proclaimed libertarian, I am shocked that you believe a jury should dictate whether a married couple can receive a divorce and that you would deny women the right to do what they wish with their own bodies.

I ask you to revoke your hateful, discriminatory comments about stoning gay people. I also urge you to step down from your political candidacy, as your views are extremist and do not reflect Oklahoman sentiments in the least.
