Tell Facebook to Delete Kill Page of Endangered Animals

Target: Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg

Goal: Delete Aaron Neilson’s Facebook page that glorifies the slaughter of animals

Aaron Neilson, a “global hunter,” posted more than a hundred photos of himself posing next to dead African lions, zebras, giraffes, water buffalo, elephants, crocodiles, moose, goats, hippos, and more on his Facebook page. According to the Facebook Community Standards, Neilson’s photos violate one of the site’s rules, which prohibits “graphic images shared for sadistic effect or to celebrate or glorify violence.” A Facebook spokesperson had stated, “We reported content that promotes poaching of endangered species, the sale of animals for organized fight or content that includes extreme acts of animal abuse”. Photos posted by Kendall Jones, a Texas cheerleader who also posed next to her trophy kills, have been taken down for the same reason very recently, so Neilson’s case should be no different.

Some of the animals showcased on Neilson’s page are endangered or near-threatened species. As reported by the International Union for the Conservation of Nature (IUCN), the African lion has seen a critical population decline of 30-50% per two decades during the second half of the 20th century. The hippos, African Elephants, and Polar Bears on his page are currently labeled “vulnerable” by the IUCN. Neilson’s hunting trips range from New Zealand to Africa and North America.

Demand Facebook to delete Aaron Neilson’s trophy kill page by signing this petition.

Dear Mark Zuckerburg,

We are calling on you to adhere to your own website’s rules and delete Aaron’s Neilson’s page, which glorifies and celebrates the slaughter of animals. It is clearly evident from the number of photos that Neilson has accumulated that he has spent a large amount of time in Africa, New Zealand, and Northern America hunting near-threatened species as a cruel, inhumane sport. Since Kendall Jones’ page has already been shut down, you must remain consistent to your website’s rules by deleting Neilson’s as well. The slaughter of beautiful animals, whether they are endangered or not, is something that should not be celebrated or spread through a social media platform.

Please ensure that all subsequent kill trophy pages are swiftly dealt with and removed from the site.

FRANCIS OF ASSISI; “I hope to make people realize how totally helpless animals are, how dependent on us, trusting as a child must that we will be kind and take care of their needs…(They) are an obligation put on us, a responsibility we have no rights to neglect, nor to violate by cruelty….” – JAMES HARRIOT; “The greatness of a nation & its moral progress can be judged by the way its animals are treated” – MAHATMA GANDHI

  4. Whoever said a good hunter is a dead hunter is right. A real man or (woman) does not hunt for sport and enjoy killing.

  5. Christine Stewart says:

There are people who pretend that they are helping “conservation” when they pay big fees to kill wildlife. WRONG! Officials and safari guides pocket big bucks, and native people are kicked off their land to accommodate the hunters. Some countries even breed lions like livestock to satisfy the “thrill seekers”- factory farming is NOT conservation!

  6. Mark Zukerberg staff is hipocrits. They ban when some one speaks the truth. But such brutal vicious acts done to innocent animals, by evil peoples pages are simply left alone to show the world how this people could be barbaric towards the other vulnerable, living beings.

I sincerely hope that justice will prevail and this jerk will be killed by the wildlife he targets. Same goes for all hunters. As someone else said, the only good hunter is a dead hunter.
