Target: Prime Minister of Malaysia, Najib Razak
Goal: Urge Malaysian authorities to take animal abuse cases more seriously
There have been multiple cases of animal cruelty in Malaysia where many animals, usually dogs, are needlessly abused and mistreated in an especially cruel manner. The majority of Malaysians perceive animals as dirty and unclean, which unfortunately results in a lack of appreciation towards animals. After the news of animal cruelty in Malaysia became known in the media, laws were enacted to protect the safety of these animals. However, the laws mean nothing if no one is willing to enforce them. Demand that the government of Malaysia protect its animals by punishing citizens convicted of animal cruelty.
For these animals, the laws are the only thing that protects them from abuse, but unfortunately these laws are unenforced. Malaysian authorities continue to lack interest in animal cruelty cases. Due to their apathy, many cases of animal abuse go on unpunished because no one is willing to take this issue seriously.
Malaysian authorities must enforce their laws and punish those who are guilty of animal abuse and begin the process of ridding animal cruelty from Malaysian culture. Sign this petition and urge Malaysian authorities to stop ignoring animal abuse cases and start punishing those found guilty of cruelty against animals.
Dear Prime Minister Najib Razak,
Unfortunately, animal cruelty is quite prevalent in Malaysian culture. Many people in Malaysia perceive animals, such as dogs, as dirty and unclean. This leads to a lack of appreciation toward these kind and loyal creatures. I understand that laws have been put in place to protect the welfare of these animals, however, the laws can have no impact if your government is failing to enforce them.
Malaysian authorities have shown a lack of interest in animal abuse cases and have failed to take these cases seriously. As a result, those who are guilty of animal cruelty continue to go on unpunished. It saddens me to learn that the animals of Malaysia are still suffering from abuse even though there are laws enacted to protect their welfare and safety. These animals should not have to endure any more abuse.
As the Prime Minister of Malaysia, I hope that you will do all that you can to urge the authorities of your country to begin taking animal cruelty cases more seriously. These animals depend of the enforcement of these laws to protect them from the severe abuse that has been inflicted on countless animals throughout Malaysia.
