Commend Prevention of Pet Deaths

Target: Indiana State Representative Linda Lawson

Goal: Commend dedication to saving unwanted animals

The state of Indiana has had trouble conveying the importance of spaying and neutering pets. State Representative Linda Lawson has worked tirelessly to enact a spay-and-neuter program in the state of Indiana, to no avail. Indiana voters, as well as many of Lawson’s colleagues do not understand the link between un-neutered pets and un-wanted animals. Because of this disconnect Lawson took matters into her own hands and personally transported animals to a place where they can get fixed and successfully find forever homes.

Lawson has attempted to create a spay-and-neuter program for low-income pet owners, though her attempts have been unsupported by the state of Indiana. Lawson understands that the people do not consider the importance of such a program, and she is not too sure they care. This lack of enthusiasm has not dimmed Lawson’s spirits; in fact, Lawson has taken matters into her own hands by transporting the animals 1,000 miles to shelters in New England. There, the animals receive necessary operations because spaying and neutering animals is the law. The spay-and-neuter laws in New England’s have placed 9,000 previously unwanted pets into loving homes while successfully reducing the number of animals in shelters.

Ensuring that dogs and cats get fixed to reduce population problems is an intelligent and necessary service. Lawson understands that these matters are crucial and she will not let anything get in the way of her mission, even a body of people that are obviously not on her side. Commend Lawson for her unwavering dedication to the cats and dogs of Indiana by signing this petition.

Dear Linda Lawson,

Indiana is unfortunately not for enacting spay-and-neuter programs; however, you do not let this lack of support get in the way of doing what is right. Thank you for utilizing your own time and resources to ensure that cats and dogs are fixed and placed in forever homes. Your dedication to the unfortunate strays of Indiana is noble and greatly appreciated.

It is my hope that the signatures in support of your efforts, generated by this petition, may be used to showcase the importance of spay-and-neuter programs. I understand that your dedication is trying and too often unappreciated; I appreciate all that you are doing for the animals of Indiana. Because of you another dog and cat have found a loving home.
