Target: Australian Prime Minister Tony Abbott
Goal: Commend Australia for providing financial assistance to a country in need
Sudan has faced many difficulties as it struggles through conflict within the country. Recent floods in the country caused nearly 21,000 people and their families to become displaced. As the rainy season draws nearer, many of Sudan’s people are facing starvation. These conditions make it even more difficult to obtain food or any vital medical care. However, a recent generous donation of an extra 7.8 million dollars from Australia will provide many people with some of the things they require to survive these hard times.
By adding an extra 7.8 million dollars to relief efforts, Australia will be able to provide more of the necessities that the Sudanese people need. The people of Sudan will receive more shelters, sanitation, food, water, and medical care. The money Australia has donated will provide life saving assistance that is greatly needed in Sudan.
All told, Australia’s donations to Sudan have totaled up to nearly 50 million dollars so far. And since the United Nations has failed to respond to several requests for sanitation improvement in displacement camps, Australia’s money is definitely appreciated. The country needs to be commended for its actions because Australia not only donated a large sum of money to a country in need, it also continued to provide further financial assistance. Sign this petition and commend Australia for its generous donations to Sudan.
Dear Prime Minister Tony Abbott,
Sudan has been facing many struggles due to the conflict tearing through the country. The recent floods have only worsened the living conditions and displaced nearly 21,000 people in the country. It has become more difficult for people to obtain the necessities the require to make it through this hard time.
Australia’s extra donation of 7.8 million dollars to Sudan strikes me as a very generous act. Not only has the country already donated nearly 42 million dollars, it also continued to provide donations to help the people of Sudan. The conditions in the displacement camps are filthy and it is very difficult to find and obtain food. Australia’s donations will give the Sudanese people and refugees medical care, shelter, food and water, and sanitation.
I would like to commend you on your country’s decision to give Sudan an extra donation of 7.8 million dollars. Sudan is going through an extremely difficult time within the country and deserves every bit of help it can get.
