Stop Ban on Electric Cars in U.S. State

Target: New Jersey

Goal: Convince the state of New Jersey to allow the environmentally friendly Tesla cars

Tesla, a motor group which makes the first fully electric vehicles are facing some aversion as the state of New Jersey is banning the environmentally friendly vehicles. These gas free cars are a progressive step towards creating a cleaner environment, yet they are prohibited in New Jersey, which is unjust for those who wish to opt out of gasoline and preserve the environment.

The New Jersey Motor Vehicle Commission recently voted to ban the vehicles, creating a law that new motor vehicles must be sold through authorized franchises. Because Tesla does not have any franchises, they now cannot be sold in New Jersey. This comes after Texas also recently banned the electric cars under similar regulations. These regulations, although indirect are clearly intended to keep Teslas out of New Jersey. This state is among the many who values the gas industry more than the health of the environment of the entire planet.

Conservative states are using unfair tactics to prevent the progress of alternative energy. New Jersey governor Chris Christie, a known global warming disbeliever has made other anti-environmentally friendly policies in the past. It is highly unfair to keep individuals who would like to use alternative energy to save money and preserve the environment from doing so.

Please sign the petition below to urge New Jersey Governor Chris Christie to allow the environmentally-friendly electric car Tesla in the state.

Dear Governor Chris Christie,

The state of New Jersey has recently created some regulations that would ultimately not allow Tesla vehicles to be sold in the state. These regulations, although indirect, are clearly intended as a means to keep gas-free vehicles from becoming popular in the state.

This policy is unjust for several reasons. Tesla is an extremely successful and innovative company which has made significant progress in creating necessary fuel efficient and environmentally friendly vehicles. This is extremely important in an age of high pollution, decreasing fuel supply, and increasing fuel prices. Although the fuel industry is a prosperous one, it is necessary to begin to make a transition to more environmentally friendly alternative sources of energy.

It is unfair to prohibit individuals who choose to reduce their fuel use and help conserve the environment from their right to electric vehicles. It should be an individual choice to choose whether or not to use fuel efficient/electric vehicles or not, and certainly not a state-wide regulation. We ask you to please end the policy that prevents New Jersey residents from purchasing Tesla vehicles and create an environment that allows your residents to choose their level of fuel use.

  1. I don’t understand why they are banning EV’s if these electric vehicles are environmentally friendly vehicles then what is the problem.

    • One of the problems are the people who supports petroleum. People who works for petroleum companies and I believe “gas cars” don’t want to loose customers so they must ban the electric cars. You should watch this documentary called “Who Killed the Electric Car?” Since people believe that electric cars has some insurance problem as well stated in the documentary. However, what they can’t admit nor will they want to admit is that gas cars are becoming a problem. California has the worst air in the nation, there is literally a blanket of smoke in the atmosphere.
Electric cars should really come back to the surface because, they are environmentally friendly. As a matter of fact, in the documentary it can be seen that officials (supporters of petroleum) took away electric cars from the people who BOUGHT them just because they were ban. In turn they were sent to a junk yard to “recycle”; turned to bits and pieces without a trace of electric cars. They didn’t want a single evidence
over electric cars as they have never exist. I think it’s selfish that petroleum officials would do this since they are not even thinking about the possible consequences in the future; for the sake of their grandchildren.
Everyone needs to wake up from this.
Electric cars are pretty modern and cool as well. Who wouldn’t want this car? Everyone should have these electric cars.
