Praise Rescue of Hundreds of Snakes from Cruel Conditions

Target: Sheriff John Scott and the Orange County Police Department

Goal: Thank police for detaining a man who was housing over 300 snakes in his home under inhumane conditions

A school teacher from Orange County, California was detained after hundreds of living and dead python snakes were found piled up to the ceiling in plastic containers inside his foul smelling house. The plastic containers were arranged on wooden shelves and the snakes had no room to move around at all. Investigators found snakes in every room of the house and said the smell was so awful that neighbors would hold their noses when walking outside. According to KTVU news, police officers said they found over 300 snakes after the man’s neighbors called in complaining about the smell coming from inside his house. The man who was charged said that he was a part of and profiting off of a snake breeding business.

Most of the snakes found were starved and resembled bones, and some were already dead and infested with maggots and flies. This underscores the cruelty of illegal animal breeding businesses such as this one. Not only do they put the animals at risk, but these illegal businesses put everyone around them at risk, too.

Please sign this petition to thank the investigators and police officers of Orange County, California for capturing this man and saving what is left of the snakes.

Dear Sheriff John Scott and the Orange County Police Department,

Thank you for your work in detaining the Orange County man who was housing over 300 snakes in his foul smelling home. If it wasn’t for your investigative work, these snakes would have suffered a life of starvation and pain. Illegal animal breeding businesses continue to pop up nation wide, and it is good to see that they are being taken more seriously. Animal cruelty is a serious issue and whoever commits the crime should be put in jail.

Please keep this man under a watchful eye to make sure he never treats another animal in this manner ever again. Once again, thank you for saving the innocent animals involved in this situation.
