I am a graduating senior at DePaul University and an avid student of yoga. I work at Moksha Yoga Studio in Chicago as a writer and am pursuing a certification in yoga teaching. It is my goal to merge together that which I find to be most compelling in the world: yoga, writing, and activism. I believe in the profound powers of peace, justice, and potential: all human beings have the potential to invoke and initiate change, and I take it upon myself to be a model of such power. Having been a vegetarian since the age of six, it has always been one of my utmost passions to protect and advocate for the rights of all animals. We as human beings are ourselves animals, and this biological fact only goes to show how important an issue animals rights is. Further, as creatures of Mother Earth, it is our divine duty to protect the goddess Earth, our home, and I think it necessary that we stand up to this duty and fulfill it with pride.
