New Hampshire has passed and introduced a series of measures that will have dire consequences for women. An amendment geared towards defunding Planned Parenthood will eliminate services for women such as cancer screening, pap smears and STD prevention. Also, another bill would weaken the state’s domestic abuse laws. Demand that Governor Lynch veto both of these anti-women propositions.

Missouri Introduces Bill To Terrorize Immigrant Community

Missouri introduced a new anti-immigrant bill targeting students. The bill aims to instill fear in immigrant communities by requiring verification of students’ immigration status. This bill is another attempt to scapegoat immigrants and play to a xenophobic sentiment. Education should not be used as a political weapon against any human, regardless of immigration status.

Kaplan University Exploits the ‘Pain’ and ‘Fears’ of Low-Income Students for Recruitment Purposes

Kaplan University is exploiting poor people to increase enrollment. They contend there’s nothing wrong with preying on the ‘hopes’ and ‘fears’ of low-income individuals. In a flier created for training purposes they urge recruiters to uncover the ‘true pain and fear’ of their prospective students. Tell Kaplan that such methods are shameless and must be stopped.

Hold Rick Santorum Accountable for Racist Comments

Presidential Candidate Rick Santorum has frequently relied on inflammatory rhetoric to appeal to his conservative base. Recently when speaking to a crowd, he stated, ‘I don’t want to make black people’s lives better by giving them somebody else’s money.’ This statement is unfounded and racially charged. Demand that Rick Santorum stop using race-baiting tactics as a method to incite his base.
