Articles — By forcechange on December 1, 2008 8:43 amThe UN Climate Change Conference opens today in Poznan, Poland. The aim of the conference is to work on negotiating an agreement to replace the Kyoto Treaty, which expires in 2012. The replacement treaty will hopefully be signed next year in Copenhagen.
The Poznan conference includes around 10,000 representatives from almost every country, who will spend the next 12 days negotiating terms for a future treaty. Some prep work for this conference was conducted at the Governor’s Global Climate Summit, in Los Angeles last month.
