Remove Terrified Penguins from Forced Parade March

Target: Samsung CEO, Dr. Oh-Hyun Kwon

Goal: Stop the use of animals in the Samsung Everland Christmas Parade

The Samsung sponsored Everland Amusement Park in Seoul, South Korea is forcing penguins into Santa costumes and Christmas tree outfits for the entertainment of its guests. These helpless birds are being made to walk in a crowded parade every day until the end of the year. We must demand that Samsung remove the penguins from its daily parade performances.

As reported by NBC news, a penguin trainer, who led the parade carrying a costumed fox, said that the parade was “a way to give people a merry Christmas.” While the animals may look cute to onlookers, they are most likely terrified. According to PETA, “bright lights, loud noises, and screaming fans are terrifying to animals, who don’t understand what is happening and can easily become defensive and aggressive.” It is also very confusing and humiliating for these animals to be dressed up in costumes, something that they would never be subjected to in a natural habitat.

Video footage from the parade shows the penguins waddling with awkward and uncomfortable movements due to their restrictive costumes. This is confusing and stressful for the birds, which can lead to anxiety induced illnesses. The Huffington Post, reported on this parade as far back as 2010. This absurd tradition has gone on long enough. It is time for Samsung to put the needs of animals ahead of their selfish desire for increased profits.

By signing this petition, you will encourage Samsung CEO, Dr. Oh-Hyun Kwon to stop using animals in the Everland Amusement Park parade.

PETITION LETTER:

Dear Samsung CEO, Dr. Oh-Hyun Kwon,

The Samsung sponsored Everland Amusement Park in Seoul, South Korea is forcing penguins into Santa costumes and Christmas tree outfits for the entertainment of their guests. Being dressed up and paraded in front of large crowds not only goes against penguins natural instincts, but it also confuses and humiliates these beautiful birds.

Animals should not be used as performers. According to PETA, “bright lights, loud noises, and screaming fans are terrifying to animals, who don’t understand what is happening and can easily become defensive and aggressive.”

I am asking that you act in the best interest of these animals and immediately stop forcing penguins to be disgraced at Samsung’s Everland Amusement Park.

Sincerely,

[Your Name Here]

  2. Dress humans as penguins at least they have the choice.

You quote PETA, you have lost me.

These are not wild animals, they are used to crowds, probably 365 days a year.

“shows the penguins waddling with awkward and uncomfortable movements “. Yes, exactly as Penguins do in the wild.

    Get a life, twits.
