Access to and control over water will shape the next century

Across the globe, from the Sierra Nevadas to the Himalayas, snow packs are rapidly dwindling, thereby removing a major source of continuous fresh water for downstream population centers. Around a billion people rely on the dwindling Himalayan watershed alone.
To make matters worse, our water problems are being compounded by mismanagement and abuse of water resources by private water companies.
We’ve previously recommended the book Cadillac Desert by Marc Reiser, as a great resource for learning more about how water effects the rise and fall of civilizations.
Now there is also an award winning documentary titled “Flow” which looks at both of these concerns. Flow is currently playing in theatres on a limited basis.
