Target: Equal Access
Goal: Commend this organization for their incredible work empowering and educating women.
Equal Access, an international non-profit organization, fights for women’s and girls’ empowerment, human rights, and youth life skills. Their latest project, Community Reporter, puts audio recorders in the hands of those women who have suffered, who are uneducated, or who have never before had a chance to speak out. Because of the work of Equal Access, these women have been enabled to share their stories and create stronger, better communities. Sign this petition to say thank you to the non-profit that has made this difference.
Focused in Asia, Africa, and the Middle East, Equal Access addresses critical issues affecting women and girls in developing countries, using the power of media and community mobilizing efforts. For example, lack of education has left women vulnerable to things like HIV infections and domestic violence. Sadly violence, and the lack of access to education, information, or social services are viewed as facts of daily life in many of these countries. Through projects like the Community Reporter, women are given voices and resources to help them learn and find strength in their positions.
This project proves the strength and power women can possess when given their basic rights to education, resources, and information. Equal Access has changed the lives of thousands of women, protecting them from harm and allowing them to become the voice of change. Commend this organization and these women for creating social change for the betterment of the world, and for empowering these incredible women.
Dear Equal Access,
As an international non-profit, you have provided help to thousands of people across Asia, Africa, and the Middle East. One of your projects in particular, the Community Reporter, helps empower women to share their stories and to become a voice of change in their communities. Thank you for this work you have done, which not only empowers these women, but also changes the lives of generations to come.
In many developing countries, access to things like education or social services are not viewed as rights but as privileges, generally only awarded to males. However, your projects have shifted the status quo, allowing women to be viewed more as competent equals.
We appreciate this meaningful work you have done, and thank you for the thousands of lives you have helped change for the better.
