California Prop 1A, high speed rail bond measure, passes
By forcechangeCalifornians gave a thumbs up to a massive inter-city high speed rail system by voting in favor of Prop 1A. The bond measure, which will issue $10 billion in debt to get the $40 billion project started, generally faired best in counties where the project will actually lay tracks. Green areas in the LATimes map above represent counties voting in favor of the measure.
In an election where Californians didn’t backup their progressive reputation, this was a shining exception.
