Applaud Efforts to Rescue Pit Bulls from Cruel Dog Fighting Ring

Target: The City of Auburn Police Department, Alabama U.S. Attorney’s Office, FBI, SPCA, and Humane Society of the United States.

Goal: Commend organizations for rescuing hundreds of abused dogs from dog fighting ring.

Law enforcement showed bravery and compassion when they rescued 367 pit bull terriers from a large, horrific dog fighting operation that is likely the second-largest dog fighting ring in history.  Dog fighters abused, starved, and killed their dogs for the fun of watching and gambling on a dogfight.  Organizations teamed up to bust the dog fighting ring and provide shelter for hundreds of rescued, helpless dogs.

The crimes are horrific.  According to a statement from the ASPCA, 114 dogs were tethered to heavy chains in 90-degree heat, wounded, covered in fleas, and with no access to food or water.  Also according to the ASPCA, the abused animals included a mother dog that tried to care for her puppies with no food or water.  Her pen was covered in trash and feces.

Although animal abuse is still happening now, animal advocates must praise efforts to stop animal cruelty. We cannot take back the abuse.  But, we can use this experience to  promote animal health and safety.

By signing the petition below you will commend the City of Auburn Police Department, ASPCA, Humane Society, and U.S. Attorney’s Office for using their resources to bust the dog ring operation.  This petition will encourage similar efforts to protect helpless, loving animals.  Animal advocates need to praise and commend  authorities that use resources and teamwork to end abuse against helpless animals.

PETITION LETTER:

Dear City of Auburn Police Department, ASPCA, Humane Society, and the Alabama U.S. Attorney’s Office,

Law enforcement showed bravery and compassion when they rescued 367 pit bull terriers from a large, horrific dog fighting operation that spanned multiple states.  Dog fighters abused, starved, and killed their dogs for the fun of watching and gambling on a dogfight. We commend the multiple organizations that teamed up to bust the dog fighting ring and provided shelter for hundreds of rescued dogs. Animal advocates applaud authorities that use resources to end abuse against helpless animals.

We commend the Auburn, Alabama, Police Department, ASPCA, Humane Society, and U.S. Attorney’s Office for using their resources to bust the dog ring operation.  This encouragement will hopefully spur similar efforts to protect helpless, loving animals.

Sincerely,

[Your Name Here]
