Palin believes God will put her into office
Articles — By forcechange on October 23, 2008 9:17 amSarah Palin, in an interview yesterday with evangelist James Dobson, declared that she is confident that God will do “the right thing for America” on November 4. Dobson noted that both he and his wife were praying “for God’s intervention” in the election.
While there is, of course, nothing wrong with a candidate being religious and praying for strength to face challenges, there is something very creepy about a candidate thinking that God is going to put them in charge of a country. Back in the day this was called Divine Right. And it is only slightly less ridiculous than thinking that God intervenes to make one athlete win over another.
Yet, the fact that Palin believes God will make her win really shouldn’t come as a surprise, since she doesn’t believe man has the power to effect the climate. Fortunately for the country (and probably unfortunately for Palin), it is actually the voters who put a leader into power.
How to ForceChange: Vote on November 4.
