Goal: Discontinue plans to market and sell perfume for babies

Dolce & Gabbana recently announced plans to market and sell a perfume for babies. This is an outrageous idea that should be stopped before it can come to fruition. Due to the lack of regulations on cosmetics in America, products like these often contain chemicals linked to serious negative health effects. Dolce & Gabbana must realize this and stop this plan before it negatively impacts young children.

This fragrance is a serious danger to our children’s health. An Environmental Working Group study of 17 perfumes in 2010 found numerous chemicals linked to various ailments ranging from allergies to hormone disruption. By disrupting hormones, some chemicals in synthetic fragrances impair body functions like growth and repair, and have also been linked to serious health problems, including cancer and reproductive system disorders.

Our children are already exposed to dangerous chemicals daily. We do not need to add toxins in fragrances to that list. By signing this petition, you are demanding that Dolce & Gabbana pull the plug on this plan before it can go into effect.

PETITION LETTER:

Dear Dolce & Gabbana,

I am writing you this letter to urge you not to go through with your plan to market and sell perfume for babies. Due to the lack of regulations on cosmetics in the United States, fragrances often contain dangerous chemicals that can cause serious health problems for those to come into contact with them. This issue is made even more serious by your proposal to introduce these chemicals to children at such a young age.

An Environmental Working Group study of 17 perfumes in 2010 found chemicals linked to health problems ranging from allergies to hormone disruption. Hormone disruption here means impairing body functions like growth and repair, as well as causing reproductive system disorders and cancer.

Introducing more chemicals like these to our children is simply unacceptable. Please reconsider your proposal to sell perfume for babies.
