Ask Montana to Make Attending Dogfights a Felony

Goal: For attending a dogfight in the state to be a felony offense
Dogfighting is a felony in every state in America. However, Montana is the only state that has no laws addressing the audience of a dogfight. The spectators that attend a dogfight are no better than those who organize the fights. By watching a fight, they are encouraging the animal cruelty and they should face consequences as well. Montana needs to make attending a dogfight a felony.
If there were no spectators for dogfights, then they wouldn’t have reached such a high level of popularity. It is the people who attend the fights that bet on the animals and encourage the ruthless behavior to continue. If Montana makes attending a dogfight a felony, then less people will participate in the fights and hopefully the amount of abused dogs will decrease.
Montana lawmakers have recently created a bill that would make attending a dogfight illegal, but it was shelved despite a large amount of support for it. We need to urge officials to bring life back to this bill so that we can end this cruel sport. Sign the petition below to show your support for making this issue a felony offense.

Dear Montana Legislature,
Dogfighting is a disgusting act that typically involves a large audience. The audience participation is crucial, because that is how bets are started and excitement arises. Without the audience, a dogfight would be pointless. Because of this, being a spectator at a dogfight should be treated as a felony.
Betting on dogfights is the sole reason they still occur. Even though the organizers of the dogfights are held responsible when caught, the spectators are let free. Your state recently created a bill that would make being in the audience of a dogfight a felony, but it was shelved. This is an important issue that shouldn’t be neglected. If the audience members are punished for attending a fight, then the sizes of audiences will decrease and fights will hopefully cease to exist.
It is sickening that one of the only ways to end dogfighting is by looming the threat of a felony over participant’s heads. This is a disgusting hobby that many people refuse to give up. We are asking you to please revive the bill to punish audience members of dogfights and make sure it passes so that we can save the lives of innocent dogs.

Back to Rome, and any state that allows dog fighting in any manner is totally backward. What kind of spectators attend these atrocities?
We need to stop mistreating animals. They are living breathing creatures that feel pain just like we do.
This is like going back in time to the Roman Empire, where such fights took place.
This makes me mad and sick! I have a great idea! Let’s put the spectator’s in the ring and let them fight each other. Then and only then, will they feel the pain these dogs do…
Has these creatures seem to enjoy pain so much, let them be used instead of animals, for testing dugs and chemicals, in laboratories.

Dog fighting should be illegal in the entire world. No animal should ever be subjected to fighting. It is a horrible thing to do to any animal, they can not speak for themselves, and even if the fight, they are often killed or die from wounds. PLEASE STOP THE FIGHTS IN ALL STATES!
so much out there in this world everyday is happening to all kinds of animals.It is NOT FAIR for these innocent animals to be treated in any harmful way.They cannot defend themselves.It’s the owner that has control over their animals and how they are treated.If they cannot give them what they deserve they don’t deserve to own one!I think if they wanna throw their dogs in a ring just to see whos the baddest and who can win some money then, I think they need to do something with the LAWS in EVERY STATE!Cruel people!

I think this is so wrong.How can people watch this and be happy.These animals are taught to do this.people like this is why the pit has abad rep.It is not fair to the animals to be lying there hurting,and dieing.These laws HAVE TO CHANGE…. What the hell…these dogs used to mans best friend, who only wanted to be loved and love their owners, now look at them, these dogs have feelings and feel pain and hurt like we do, these people should be shot and should be in the ring with these dogs to fend for their own. This should be outlawed and the people should be hung, I am a lover of all dogs but when I see a pit bull I walk the other way due to the way pit bull owners train the dogs(not all owners) to kill just for profit, and when these dogs are done they are left to die. This should be outlawed and never to happen again.
i feel we need to make a pit just like the romans did and put these people in there with ALL these dogs, lets see how they fair against these (fighting dogs) … they only fight because people make them
