Indict Russian Leaders for War Crimes Against Ukraine

Target: Piotr Józef Hofmański, President of International Criminal Court

Goal: Hold Russia accountable for reported war crimes committed in Ukraine.

A mother and her two children lie motionless and bloody on a bombed-out bridge. Wounded new mothers and children emerge from the rubble of a destroyed maternity hospital.  Trenches filled with the bodies of the dead stand as the stark symbol of a humanitarian catastrophe befalling one city under siege. In neighboring cities, families huddle in darkness, without access to food or water, as their ever-shrinking pathways to safety face relentless assault. And the worst may be yet to come, with the specter of horrific chemical and biological attacks looming. The man shepherding Ukraine through this unimaginable crisis asked the question looming even larger: “how much longer will the world be an accomplice ignoring terror?”

Since invading Ukraine, Russian forces have repeatedly targeted civilian centers, resulting in thousands of casualties and the exodus of millions of citizens from their previous secure lives. The citizens still seeking escape are often met with fire, despite Russia’s continued pledges for cease-fires along humanitarian corridors meant for the safe passage of refugees. All the while, Russian leadership is taking directly from the Nazi playbook by blaming these atrocities on the very people they are attacking and subjecting their own people to the most severe censorship.

Unfortunately, other pieces of history from World War II are also repeating themselves, including the initial failure of other nations to hold an out-of-control dictatorship to account. Appeasement and fears of escalation often guided policy in the early days of that conflict, too, leading to some of the most devastating crimes against humanity in history. The world cannot let this history repeat itself.

While some leaders struggle to label these atrocities, war crimes are playing out in real time every day. Sign the petition below to demand the world start demanding accountability.

PETITION LETTER:

Dear Mr. Hofmański,

Those who do not learn from history are doomed to repeat it. This belief has endured for a reason, and the world is grappling with its lesson now. In the late 1930s, few experts and strategists could have imagined that the occupation of Czechoslavakia and the later invasion of Poland would enable such atrocities as the Final Solution. Yet as friendly nations failed to act and opportunistic nations saw this failure, the invasions—and the atrocities—continued to grow until the world could no longer look the other way.

Similar patterns are unfolding today in Ukraine, from the false flag operations to the blanket of propaganda enfolding a people to the appeasement and fear of the local schoolyard bully to, most tragically of all, the suffering civilians. Thousands have been killed, and millions have become refugees. The evidence that Russia has committed war crimes is in plain sight every day: the assaults on civilian centers like Mariupol and Kharkiv, the bombing of hospitals and humanitarian corridors, the reckless attack on a nuclear power plant, and so much more. The Hague and Geneva Conventions are violated daily.

Such atrocities are a familiar refrain for Russia. Whether the victims are from Chechnya, Georgia, or Ukraine, they have continually been deprived justice. Do not wait until after the worst damage is done to take action. Act now to prevent mass slaughter.

Charge Russia’s military and political leadership with war crimes.

Sincerely

If ever there was a war crime it’s Putin!!! He attacked Ukraine and has killed God knows how many!!! All of the children dead!
Displaced with no place to go. All of the animals that had to be left behind and the people that tried to get their pets out! Heartbreaking

    • Some people who run animal shelters refused to leave. I wonder how they and the animals are. One 26 year old volunteer who went to feed starving dogs was shot dead. I broke down. I broke down after they showed the dead children covered up. I can no longer watch anymore.

What about George W. Bush, Dick Cheney, and Madeleine Allbright. Madeleine Allbright said it was okay that America murdered HALF A MILLION IRAQI BABIES in pursuit of Saddam Hussein who didn’t even have the weapons of mass distruction that Americans claimed that he did. Condaleezza Rice said it is okay to torture people if the U.S President authorizes it. The U.S. has attacked 70 nations over the years. Do you all of this is okay? If so, you are a hypocrit.

  2. End Putin’s tyrant regime NOW!

  3. As long as the rest of the world watches this abomination we are complicit in the deaths of thousands. Why are young strong men not there standing beside Ukrainian soldiers the same as they did for Poland in WWII. The time for symbolism has past. Time to show the world what you are made of regardless of birth country.

  4. IT HAS BEEN SAID THAT ASSHOLE PUTIN WANTS TO BE LIKE HITLER!! DOES THIS FUCKING BASTARD KNOW HOW HITLER DIED??? HE KILLED HIMSELF YOU DUMB FUCK!!!! HE HAD THE SHIT SCARED OUT OF HIM BY BEING CAPTURED. A GOOD PICTURE OF THIS BASTARD WOULD BE A VERY BIG BULLET HOLE RIGHT BETWEEN HIS SEEDY EYES!! KARMA BABY. PLEASE SOMEONE DO JUST THAT AND ALL HIS FUCKING RUSSIAN LEADERS. LAY THEM ALL OUT IN THE STREETS, HOPEFULLY IN SMALL PIECES. DO NOT EVEN FEED THEM TO ANY WILDLIFE, AS THEY ARE HORIFFIC SICK AND EXTREMELY EVIL PRICKS!!! GO UKRAINE !!!!

Preventing a broader conflict in Ukraine is our concern as Americans. Especially in view of President Putin’s broadcast of a nuclear warning. We cannot, however, sit by and allow the atrocities to continue to take place. We are Americans, we are humans and must act. If we attacked Russian forces in Ukraine with conventional and overwhelming force and drove them out of that country is it realistic to think President Putin would actually launch strategic tactical nuclear weapons? I think not. The Russian oligarch unlike Alquaeda who relishes the thought of the afterlife want to live and live well. If nuclear weapons were launched Putin knows with mathematical certainty that a retaliatory strike against his country would kill him and everybody he’s even known.
President Biden, if you are listening, attack, attack, ATTACK!

  11. Yvette Lantz says:

How can us United States just sit back and watch. We are very powerful, more powerful then people realize. Russia is not going to stop at nothing. We are afraid they will launch their nuclear missiles, guess what. We are going to have to take that Chance. I’m sorry this world is a mess at everything that is going on anymore. This has to End somehow. They are bullies.

  12. Maria Bertrand says:

WHY HAS HE BEEN ALLOWED TO GET AWAY WITH HIS WAR CRIMES OVER AND OVER FOR SO LONG?????

THE PEOPLE THAT HAVE THE POWER TO ACT ON THIS BETTER DO IT NOW ….BECAUSE THIS IS ENRAGING MOST OF THE WORLD AND IT WILL BE REMEMBERED FOR HISTORY!!!

SO DO WHAT YOU DID FOR BIN LADEN…..DON’T LEAVE UKRAINE HANGING ANY LONGER !!! EVERYBODY IS LOSING!! ESP UKRAINE ….PLEASE!

  13. Putin is a mentally deranged scumbag and this vile cretin must be exterminated!

  14. Putin and his minions are an absolute ABOMINATION! Must go……🤬

  15. Agree all comments. Get rid of him now.
Cruel evil bastard dont care about anything except for himself not any other human or animals . Kill him.

  16. Lisa Allis says:

In what court will this indictment of Russian Leaders be conducted? They are not part of the E.U. or NATO or the League of Nations or whatever it is. Also, what about indicting George W. Bush, Madeleine Allbright, Dick Cheney, etc.? Madeleine Allbright said it was worth it for HALF A MILLION IRAQI BABIES TO BE MURDERED in the America’s pursuit of Saddam Hussein. Condaleezza Rice said that it is okay to torture people if the U.S. President authorizes it. Wake up you people and see who the criminals really are!

  17. Lisa Allis says:

My message was deleted. I was saying; In what court are they to indict the Leaders of Russia? If there is such a court, then they should indict George W. Bush, Madeleine Allbright, and Dick Cheney for war crimes. Madeleine Allbright said that it was worth it to murder half a million Iraqi babies in pursuit of Saddam Hussein. Condaleezza Rice said that torture is okay if the U.S. President authorizes it. When will you people see the real criminals in this world?

  18. Therese Kutscheid says:

Now, I do believe that was discussion about Russia and Ukraine. I see some people start discussion about what US did some time ago. I believe every country have done something wrong. The thing is we have problem between Russia and Ukraine and it is in whole world interest that those 2 countries stop that crazy war and that every country of the world start peacefully co-operate. No matter what nationality, we could create a wonderful world for all of us.
