Target: LAPD Officers Cindy Herrera, Jennifer Cohen and Valerie Lancaster,
Goal: To thank the officers for rescuing an abandoned pit bull who had been hit by a car
An abandoned pit bull that was nearing death after being hit by a car in Los Angeles was rescued by three LAPD officers. The pit bull was left to die on a sidewalk for close to five hours before the officers noticed him. They immediately rushed the dog to a local emergency veterinary clinic. The pit bull, named Philly, was found to have a broken leg and two broken ribs. Had the officers not rescued him, the dog would have been left to die from his injuries.
The doctors at the emergency veterinary clinic found that Philly had a microchip, but when his owners were contacted and made aware of his rising medical bills, they relinquished ownership. The three police officers who rescued him have now adopted Philly and set up a charity to raise money to pay for the $10,000 worth of medical bills.
These three compassionate LAPD officers are heroes for rescuing this dog. People were walking right past Philly and none of them tried to help him. Without these officers, Philly wouldn’t be alive right now. Their efforts in rescuing him and raising money for his treatment should be honored and praised. Sign the petition below to thank these officers for their kindness.
Dear Officers Cindy Herrera, Jennifer Cohen and Valerie Lancaster,
Your compassion while saving Philly the pit bull should not go unnoticed. Rescuing an abandoned dog was a very brave and kind thing to do. Many people chose to walk by him while he was suffering, but your kind-hearted nature wouldn’t allow you to do that. Philly would not be with us right now if it wasn’t for you.
Not only are you the reason why he is still alive, you are also the reason why he will have a loving home to go to. When his owners refused to take him back because of his expensive medical bills, you stepped up and created a charity to help him. Now he will get the chance to live a new life, with the comfort of a loving home and kind owners.
We want to thank you for your hard work in caring for Philly and ensuring he makes a full recovery. Now more than ever he needs love and compassion to overcome his injuries. You are courageous women, and Philly is lucky you have come into his life.
