Target: Greenland Grove, United Kingdom Officials
Goal: To save a bull who is too afraid for a vet checkup from euthanasia
Currently, there is a bull in the United Kingdom who is in jeopardy of facing euthanasia. This bull is a resident of the Greenland Grove Animal Sanctuary. He has done absolutely nothing wrong but his life is still in danger. Action must be taken in order to save this bull from a wrongful death.
Clarence the bull will potentially face euthanasia because he is too afraid to receive a medical examination from veterinarians. This examination tests for bovine tuberculosis and is required for all bovine creatures even if they are not used for farming purposes. Unfortunately, Clarence is so terrified of veterinarians that he won’t let a veterinarian come close enough to perform the medical examination on him. Ultimately, Clarence will be put down if he can’t be tested for bovine tuberculosis.
The owner of the Greenland Grove Animal Sanctuary, Carol Jacobs, is doing everything in her power to prevent Clarence from being euthanized. She has two options to save Clarence: she can tranquilize him so vets may approach him or she can use a cattle crush to immobilize him for a short period of time. Although she has been given these options, she must find the means to fund these methods herself. Being an owner of an animal sanctuary that depends on donations and fundraisers, this is an extremely difficult task to accomplish.
Time is running out for Clarence. Ms. Jacobs has been sent a letter by officials indicating their intentions to come and shoot Clarence; officials have a zero-tolerance policy against bovine animals who fail to take the bovine tuberculosis test. Ms. Jacobs has been given four weeks to prevent Clarence’s death. Sign the petition below to urge Greenland Grove officials to either give Ms. Jacobs more time to find a solution or to help provide Ms. Jacobs with a means to subduing Clarence long enough to receive the necessary medical examination.
Dear Greenland Grove Officials,
It has come to my attention that a bull residing in the Greenland Grove Animal Sanctuary is in danger of euthanasia. Clarence, the bull in question, has done nothing wrong and does not deserve to die just because he is afraid of receiving a medical examination. I understand that this test is required for all bovine animals because it tests for bovine tuberculosis, but I feel that euthanizing Clarence is extreme.
The owner of the animal sanctuary, Carol Jacobs, has been given two options to subdue Clarence long enough in order to receive the medical examination. Unfortunately, both of these methods are expensive. Ms. Jacobs is doing everything in her power to save Clarence but she is having a difficult time finding the funds to either tranquilize or immobilize Clarence; the sanctuary depends on donations and fundraising for whatever funds it receives.
I am urging you to give Ms. Jacobs more time to save Clarence and if that is not possible, I am urging you to help Ms. Jacobs to obtain the funds or the equipment necessary to subdue Clarence.
