Demand Justice For Severely Abused Pit Bulls

Target: Cook County Judges, Chicago

Goal: Ensure that the owner of two severely abused pit bills faces the maximum punishment legally allowed for animal cruelty.

Thanks to an anonymous tip in early January 2013, Chicago police arrested Jarcivius Taylor and charged him with nine crimes, including felony animal cruelty of two pit bulls. After a search warrant was issued, police also found guns and drugs in Taylor’s home, which led to further charges. Call upon the judges of Cook County to ensure that Taylor is held accountable for animal cruelty.

MyFoxChicago.com first reported that the female pit bull found in Taylor’s home was so malnourished that her hipbones stuck out, her paws were scabbed and urine stained, she had been over-mated, her legs were deformed from a previous injury that had never been taken care of, and she had open wounds that were similar to dog fighting injuries. The male pit bull that police found also showed signs of malnourishment and abuse.

Taylor is refusing to give up his ownership of the dogs, and the state will be petitioning the court to take over ownership. The female dog is recommended to be euthanized because of the severity of her injuries.

Jarcivius Taylor is being held in Cook County Jail on $100,000 bond. He was previously out of jail on bond for other unrelated charges. There is no word of what will happen next in the case of these 2 abused pit bulls, but we can help make sure Taylor receives punishment for his cruelty and neglect.

PETITION LETTER:

Dear Cook County Judges,

Two pit bulls have been through horrible cruelty and neglect, and one may be facing euthanasia because of Jarcivius Taylor. He is the reason why these dogs are malnourished and dealing with the aftermath of severe abuse. They are covered in wounds, have protruding hipbones, and have possibly been involved in dog fighting.

Taylor is refusing to give up his ownership of the dogs, but why would he deserve such a privilege? He could have stopped what was happening, and then these dogs may be in better health. Instead, one is going to lose her life, and the other will be mentally and physically scarred for life.

We are asking you to please ensure that Taylor receives the maximum possible legal punishment for his crimes. His ownership of the pets should be revoked, and he should not be allowed to own pets in the future. The male pit bull that was lucky enough to survive and will hopefully be placed with a loving owner, but there will be no justice for the dog that will be euthanized. She is losing her life because of carelessness, and Taylor should have to pay for that.

Sincerely,

[Your Name Here]
