Demand Justice for Cat Killed with B.B. Gun
By Ona CoughlanTarget: Judges of St. Clair County, Illinois
Goal: Ensure maximum penalty for man who killed cat with B.B. gun
Recently, a young man from Bellville, Illinois named Johnaver T. Robinson was arrested by county police. Investigators claim he intentionally killed a cat by shooting the animal with a B.B. gun. Robinson is currently being held in St. Clair County jail on charges of animal cruelty.
If these allegations are correct, Robinson should be given the maximum punishment for his crime. A B.B. gun is a small, air-powered weapon that is not classified as a firearm. The bullets, while dangerous, are not terribly strong. For this man to kill a cat with this gun, one of two circumstances must have occurred. The first option is that Robinson shot the cat multiple times. One B.B gun bullet would not have been enough to kill a full-grown feline, meaning Robinson must have aimed and shot the animal repeatedly. The cat would have died very slowly and suffered tremendously.
The second possibility is that the animal killed was actually a kitten. Kittens are smaller and require less force to inflict harm, so Robinson would have only had to take one or two shots. If this scenario occurred, Robinson intentionally shot and killed a tiny, defenseless, baby animal.
Regardless of which circumstance is actually correct, Robinson is a disturbed individual who needs to remain in jail. If he is released, he could hurt another animal or turn his aggression towards people. This cannot happen. The maximum punishment he can receive is three years in state prison and a $25,000 fine. Tell the judges of St. Clair County to give this man the maximum penalty.
PETITION LETTER
Dear Judges of St. Clair County,
As you know, a young man from Bellville named Johnaver T. Robinson was recently arrested by county police. He is charged with intentionally killing a cat by shooting the animal with a B.B. gun. This man is disturbed and I urge you to give him the maximum penalty possible.
For Robinson to kill a cat with a B.B. gun, one of two circumstances must have occurred. The first option is that Robinson shot the cat multiple times. One B.B gun bullet would not have been enough to kill a full-grown feline, meaning Robinson aimed and shot repeatedly. The cat would have died very slowly and suffered tremendously.
The second possibility is that the animal killed was actually a kitten. Kittens are smaller and require less force to inflict harm, so Robinson would have only had to take one or two shots. If this scenario occurred, Robinson intentionally shot and killed a defenseless baby animal.
Regardless of which circumstance is actually correct, Robinson is a dangerous individual who needs to remain in jail. If he is released, he could hurt another animal or turn his aggression towards people. This cannot happen. Please ensure that this man remains in jail for a long as possible. He must learn that there are consequences for his cruel behavior.
Thank you.
Sincerely,
