Better Place to build electric car re-charging infrastructure in Bay Area

November 21, 2008

Better Place announced this week that it intends to build the re-charging infrastructure necessary to bring electric cars to market in the Bay Area by 2012.  Better Place hopes to install a quarter of a million charging stations and 200 battery exchange stations in the region.

Better Place CEO Shai Agassi noted, “We need to put together a new industry, and it needs to scale very fast.”  His plan to equip the Bay Area is supported by all three of the region’s big-city mayors.

  2. I am sure that EV owners (and their number is increasing daily) would appreciate an EV charging network that makes it possible for them to utilize their vehicles for longer distances and for more purposes.
