Just For Fun– A Look at the Un-Scientific Side of Human Nature

Even though they may not be considered “green” issues, sometimes we like to cover interesting scientific theories or discoveries, since ultimately anything environmentally related should at its core also be scientifically based.

With the video above, we wanted to highlight something simply ridiculous and unscientific just to show the flip side of science and reason.  As we did in this post that compared climate change skeptics to flat earthers, it is sometimes good to look at what happens when humans abandon empirical evidence and the scientific method.

The host of the BBC video clip, Louis Theroux, describes the above encounter as follows:

I met him while doing a story on UFO believers in the American South West. Most of the people in that subculture had had sightings of UFOs, or even glimpsed ETs, but Reverend Short went several better by claiming to have actual space beings who spoke through him using his vocal chords.

Being in another dimension, the space being, “Korton”, had the ability to see the future. I saw this for myself, more than once, when Reverend Short went into a trance and channeled Korton’s prognostications in a loud, booming voice punctuated with lots of “ums”.
