Foxes are Beautiful and Cunning Animals, Not a Fashion Statement

Target: Finnish Government and Sirkka-Liisa Anttila, the Finnish Minister of Agriculture and Forestry

Goal: To stop animals from being held with metal pincers and then electrocuted at fur farms in Finland.

Recently animal rights activists from Oikeutta Elaimille revealed the disturbing truth about the cruel fur farms in Finland. The  innocent animals who reside in these farms are forced to live in small unsanitary cages and are killed in barbaric ways; often they are held with metal pincers then electrocuted. It takes 10 foxes to make a single dress. Each year 4 to 5 million silver and arctic foxes are killed for their pelts which are then exported; the U.S. is one of their biggest buyers.

These captive exotic and wild animals exhibit neurotic behavior causing them to attack each other, something that rarely occurs in the wild. Their wounds are left untreated or if infected their limbs are amputated. Many of the animals exposed to these horrific conditions are completely apathetic; they become numb and passive until they are killed.

It is sickening that this inhumane treatment of these beautiful animals is all for fashion and profit. This is where we can all make a difference; do not buy clothes from any retailer that sells fur. Often there is a lack of awareness for which company we are supporting when we buy; you can easily find a list of stores that do not sell fur products. Ultimately the fur farms should be closed, but not supporting any industry involved in this trade can create a movement in that direction. The fox is a beautiful and cunning being, not a fashion statement.

PETITION LETTER,

Dear Finnish Government and Sirkka-Liisa Anttila,

The cruel conditions of the fir farms in Finland have been exposed; animals are kept in horrific conditions where they are treated and killed cruelly. This often leads to them displaying neurotic behavior and wounding each other; these injuries are not cared for and many of the animals were found with infections. It is tragic that this is all in the name of profit and fashion.

Please take the necessary measures to close these inhumane fur farms so many innocent lives will be spared. It is unjust to treat any living creature with so much cruelty, for such a shallow purpose.

Sincerely,

[Your name here]

ALL FUR COATS ARE SECOND-HAND AND USED…..THEIR REAL OWNERS WERE BRUTALLY TORTURED AND MURDERED IN THEM!! TRAPPING IS SAVAGE AND CRUEL…THE TRAPPED ANIMAL SUFFERS FROM TERROR, PAIN, ISOLATION FROM FAMILY, DEHYDRATION, HUNGER, ELEMENTS, PREDATOR ATTACKS, AND FINALLY THE BRUTALITY OF THE TRAPPER! SHAME, SHAME…IT IS WRONG AND YOU KNOW IT IS WRONG!!!!!!
