Don’t Breed Beagles for Painful Experiments

Goal: Deny the request to build a beagle puppy farm for live animal research.
The company, Bantin & Kingman Universal Ltd has appealed an earlier decision by the Planning Inspectorate of East Riding Council in the UK to stop a factory farm that would produce beagles for laboratory research. The dogs produced by these farms would be subjected to horrible and inhumane treatment, as evidenced by the conditions of other research laboratories in the UK. Tell Planning Inspectorate Eric Pickles to stand his ground and refuse Bantin & Kingman’s appeal.
Celebrity Ricky Gervais recently joined in supporting the British Union for the Abolition of Vivisection’s tireless campaign against Bantin & Kingman’s proposed puppy farm. According to first-hand observation and statistics, 3,727 dogs were used in research in the United Kingdom in 2008. Amongst the most egregious abuses was evidence that the dogs had substances dripped in their eyes, were force fed agrochemicals and were given chemicals and other products via feeding tubes. Dogs have substances rubbed into their bare skin and some are put in harnesses and have chemicals pumped into their bloodstreams for hours. This results in a number of horrible side effects including vomiting, diarrhea, and organ failure. Any dogs that survive are usually euthanized and then dissected.
This type of cruelty is incomprehensible. There are other methods for testing that treat dogs humanely or simply do not use them at all. Allowing Bantin & Kingman to build their proposed factory farm for beagles would be a major blow to animal welfare and shameful move for the United Kingdom. Tell Eric Pickles to give a firm no to Bantin & Kingman and take a stand for beagles and animals everywhere.

Dear Mr. Eric Pickles,
We urge you to not falter in the face of Bantin & Kingman Universal Ltd’s appeal of your earlier decision to not allow them to build a factory farm where beagles would be raised for experiments. In the past, experiments involving dogs have included the animals being force fed chemicals, having substances dripped in their eyes, and being tied down for hours while various products are pumped into their bloodstreams. They experience organ failure, vomiting and weight loss, and any dogs that survive these brutal experiments are put to death and dissected.
Ricky Gervais stands with the British Union for the Abolition of Vivisection in their firm stance against the building of this factory farm and so do we. There are numerous other methods for research and testing that do not involve the systematic torture and slaughter of beagles. Send a message to Bantin & Kingman that inhumane animal testing will not be tolerated in the UK.

I lived and study in UK and believe that UK must be more human to animals like in this case-dogs and cats.It have modern methods who instead real animals use imitations, mashines who can give same results like axperiments with real animals. Dogs and cats are companions, they have emotions, can feel love, they not deserve to live in horror experiments.
I studied science in the United States and I have seen the horrors of vivisection.I had to quit veterinary school bc I saw the horrors,injustice,and pain and suffering that these people do to these defensless animals.STOP THIS HOLOCAUST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Are you F**KING kidding me?!?! Those people should wiped out of the planet!!! If some sh*t is to be tested, it’s because we don’t need it in our life! Wake up you stupid morons!!! I can’t believe this can happen…. They need to be stopped, and no need to say HOW I would stop them.
It is said that these types of companies especially like beagles for research as this breed is docile and loves human attention. So they are easily manipulated, which make this practice all the more sinister. These little guys crave human contact, and even just being in cages is horrific for them, not to mention the testing. This is heartbreaking. I hope we can all make a difference.
I say storm the place, put those b_sta rds in the cages and take out all the animals!!, I would lead the charge NO PROBLEM! It makes me absolutely SICK to think they are suffering even as we speak! Then burn the place down. Just a thought. I’d go to jail for that.
well said janna, i will storm the place with you.. i have read that they can use computer models and isolated cells..instead of live animals..so they are just sadistic..b*****ds..who just want to torture innocent babys…they even state that the need for it no longer exists…bio experimentation….they just like inflicting pain on the innocents….
To all those who doubt our resolve, let us be clear: We are relentless, we are indefatigable, and we will never stop fighting animal abuse until the last cage is empty!
Show the world your strength and take a stand to end this type of animal abuse. It’s horrific and actually promotes actions non of us would support. There are other methods of effective testing. Please urge this company to get with the 21st century and use these safe,
effective and efficient alternative methods. The UK is looked upon very gravely for this. Now is the time to do something to end it.
